World Migraine Solidarity Day

Shades For Migraine

On 21st June 2017, the longest day of the year we will see the first World Migraine Solidarity Day.  To increase awareness of migraine and show solidarity with those who live with this invisible, unpredictable and stigmatised disease a worldwide campaign called Shades for Migraine has been launched.

Many people with migraine are affected by light sensitivity - a disturbing symptom experienced by most sufferers often requiring them to retreat to a darkened room during an attack, which is why as part of the campaign we are asking you to wear a pair of sunglasses, for the whole day, both indoors and outdoors on 21st June 2017.

Get your friends, family and colleagues to join in. You can wear the wackiest or funniest shades you can find or ordinary ones, they just need to be visible! If you can't wear them on your face allday, hang them around your neck, put them on your head, or hook them up to your top or shirt. Let them make a statement and start a conversation...Post a photo of yourself (and friends/family) wearing your Shades for Migraine on social media using the hashtag #ShadesForMigraine

Help the campaign to go viral by letting others know about it. On Wednesday 21st June, 'show you care and wear a pair'.
