American Pie? Well Cake

Migraine Art Cake

Jeanne a cake designer from Pennsylvania, USA took part in a collaboration called Unseen Battles for Mental Health Month, where she used one of our Migraine Art images for inspiration. This particular image has helped her to highlight the devastating impact migraine has on her son's life.

“I dedicate this to my son who has been suffering with them for many years. I remember fighting back tears while sitting in a dark room with him lightly rubbing his back as he struggled to cope with the pain that made is eyes feel like broken glass and his head was being stabbed with sharp tools. He describes the pain as being so intense that getting up to take medication or go to the bathroom is almost impossible.  Migraines can last up to 72 hours that may include nausea, vomiting, and sensitivity to light, sound, or smell.

Special thanks to Migraine Action of the UK for permission to use their artwork as inspiration.
