People with migraine often need to make lifestyle changes or take medication to help control their migraine. This section helps to explain more about the different types of migraine treatments available for individuals.

Butterbur A member found that butterbur extract from Swanson Health Products was really effective in helping to prevent her migraines. "At least six people on MA's web forum are on it and doing well. Eliminating aspartame from your diet
Andrea West from Somerset explains her experience of aspartame: "I just wanted to say that in the July 2011 newsletter, on page 12, Dr Silver advises to drink plenty of water or squash. However, most of the fruit squashes available in supermarkets now contain aspartame which I found to be the main trigger for my migraines.

Magnesium thyroxide
After having undertaken Kineasology (a holistic way of detecting and correcting imbalances in your body's energy) one of our members found that she had low magnesium. Although, she had taken magnesium tablets before it was magnesium thyroxide that she needed to take, particularly as she had other members of her family who had a thyroid dysfunction.
After Having 5 drops of magnesium thyroxide a day, her migraines were reduced to one a month.
